The Rabbit Hole

Erp… what is a “water infection”?

As to the rest? I can’t really blame the doctors anymore. They have to jump through every hoop the insurance company dictates to them or they don’t get paid.

Which is why I am looking for a concierge doctor. Cut the crap, cut the protocol. If I need X test I don’t want to go through ABCDEFG before getting to X which tells us everything it is supposed to so we can act accordingly.

This was posted on a vegan site btw but it makes a good point.

Yeah, but where do our “canine” teeth come from?

True that gorillas are leaf eaters, but eating habits of primates are varied. Chimps are omnivores and they pretty much eat anything that moves.
The teeth of the Chinese pandas are absolutely those of meat eaters, although they eat nothing but bamboos (today). Most likely they were forced to change their diet long time ago due to climatic changes. They were probably too slow to catch any prey. Or maybe their bamboo diet makes them too slow to move.
Bottom line: eating habits of animals can change, if they are forced to.
Humans eat at lot of cereal which we call wheat, rice, etc., and it certainly wasn’t the diet of paleolithic hunters/gatherers.

Poland was one of the first countries Trump visited once he became president, and for good reason. They actually care about their culture and national identity. I still remember the msm saying crap like “how can he visit Poland, while putting aside visits to traditional allies like Germany?”. The madness never ends with the media. If they even glanced at the preface of a history book, they’d know that Germany has NEVER been a traditional ally of America.

That is the clearest explanation I have ever read as to why universal healthcare cannot work for you. All the arguments have been along the lines of " the NHS is a mess and we don’t want to be like you." Forget us. We’re only one country in the developed world with universal healthcare.

Yes, what a mess! You have a lot of low earners, no earners and illegals, yet your economy is booming under Trump. America is the land of the biggest extremes. I wonder if you have more illegals than us, proportionately? I like having a big moat around us! We don’t exploit it enough though.

Now we have Boris, I hope things will start happening. He is very gaffe prone, but it is no less than what a lot of us think. We know what he thinks about Muslims (at the offence of Muslims and the libs). We can start by banning the burka. Boris has promised more money for the NHS. That could be throwing good money after bad, as it would be far more productive to overhaul all the waste and streamline systems, both IT and people. And stop being the International Health Service. How crazy is that? I could rant on for a long time about the NHS.

Humans are meant to be omnivores. Along with other apes, we cannot manufacture vitamin B12 and the only sources are from meat, fish and seafood. Gorillas get their B12 from termites so are not strictly vegetarian. I have never seen a healthy looking vegan.

I guess a bacterial infection?

Whoops I forgot about that. I guess you don’t fancy getting slapped in the face by a steaming pile… :hushed:

This is what we know them as in the U.K.

There wasn’t any insurance company involved here, they just saw dollar signs and went for as many $ as they thought they could get.

It certainly makes you realize not to accept your first bill from the medical provider as the collection company reduced the price 3 or 4 times to get some form of payment.

What…?! You paid 3k for a dose of antibiotics? A UTI is caused by E.coli 85% of the time. It is far more common in women than men (things being closer together) and can sometimes be sorted by a good dose of cranberry juice. Failing that, a course of antibiotics (not forgetting the probiotics afterwards.) Even I could have diagnosed that! Could have saved you 3k!

Exactly, that’s why we asked them to treat a water infection but of course they wouldn’t treat it as such and restricted liquid consumption, replacing it with a drip (making things worse) so to the uninitiated it looked more serious than what it was.
Because we had gone to the practice specifically asking for antibiotics, which they eventually prescribed they didn’t get paid. Not even $3,300. I made a gesture of payment, leading them to close the file realizing the Doctors had pushed their luck with all of the unnecessary tests.

Bloody hell, everyone’s trying to pull a fast one. NHS has plenty of critics but contrast that to what would have happened here. You walk into the GP’s office, they listen to you and you walk out 10 minutes later with a prescription for a course of antibiotics which will cost you £8. That’s it.

Years ago I bought a camera lens in the US. The next day I saw the same lens advertised as being reduced in a sale at the same shop. So I go back asking for the difference. I was basically told to get lost. Silly me expecting the same consumer protection laws we have here. If they fail to give me back the difference, all I need to do is demand a refund (which legally they have to give, within 30 days) and just buy it again at the cheaper price. So there is no point them getting arsey.

The economy is booming, yes. However, due to illegals we’ve have wage suppression which affects multitudes of blue collar workers.

I seriously hope things start turning around for your country. What a beautiful place with so much history. It is a terrible shame to have been flooded by Muslims and to see how ungrateful and even hateful many of them are.

I don’t dislike the people per se but I loathe the culture. It doesn’t belong in Western societies. It is like trying to mix oil and water.

That sounds a lot like the UK civil-service (the mechanics of government rather than ‘the government’).

When we see a montage like this I wonder if the Tory voters (you of course Jen) think.
Have we done the right thing ???

Seriously though, I am pleased you managed to vote him, I just fear he will be hamstrung by that last bullshit vote in Parliament on no deal and the noises/threats being made by the likes of Hammond, Major, Blair trying to interfere with the process

It’s strange that their god would bestow upon them such a virulent disease.
I’m sure if Hitchens was still with us he would be able to give an elequent response…
