If there is a hell, it will include Hillary doing an eternal cackle, the eternal Jerry Lewis telethon and an eternal Springsteen concert

Not sure I understand who Jerry Lewis is or Springsteen but they must be pretty bad if referred with “in hell”! :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Why Donald Trump Cannot Get a Top-Tier Lawyer

by Alan M. Dershowitz • June 15, 2023 at 5:00 am

  • There are disturbing suggestions that among the reasons lawyers are declining the case is because they fear legal and career reprisals.
  • There is a nefarious group that calls itself The 65 Project that has as its goal to intimidate lawyers into not representing Trump or anyone associated with him. They have threatened to file bar charges against any such lawyers.
  • I wrote an op-ed offering to defend pro bono any lawyers that The 65 Project goes after. So The 65 Project immediately went after me, and contrived a charge based on a case in which I was a constitutional consultant, but designed to send a message to potential Trump lawyers: If you defend Trump or anyone associated with him, we will target you and find something to charge you with. The lawyers to whom I spoke are fully aware of this threat – and they are taking it seriously… It may even be worse today…
  • Good lawyers… generally welcome challenges, especially in high-profile cases. This case is different: the threats to the lawyers are greater than at any time since McCarthyism. Nor is the comparison to McCarthyism a stretch. I recall during the 1950s how civil liberties lawyers, many of whom despised communism, were cancelled, and attacked if they dared to represent people accused of being communists.
  • Our system of justice is based on the John Adams standard: he too was attacked for defending the British soldiers accused of the Boston Massacre, but his representation of these accused killers now serves as a symbol of the 6th Amendment right to counsel. That symbol has now been endangered…
  • Trump’s lawyers have now alleged that one of the prosecutors has suggested to Stanley Woodward, the lawyer for Waltine Nauta, Trump’s co-defendant, that his application for judgeship may be negatively affected if he persists in defending Nauta vigorously rather than encouraging him to cooperate against Trump. If that is true – and I have not seen the evidence to support it – then it represents a direct attack on the 6th Amendment.
  • Whatever one may think of Trump or the charges against him, all Americans must stand united against efforts to intimidate lawyers and chill them from defending unpopular clients pursuant to the 6th Amendment. Bar associations must look into the threats and actions of The 65 Project and of prosecutors who try… to influence the representation of clients by threats to their careers or other means.
  • Hard cases may make bad law but partisan cases endanger constitutional rights. We must do everything to assure that all defendants, including Donald Trump, get the zealous representation to which the Constitution entitled all Americans.

Of all people the Jit laughs at Trumps current delimma.

It has put his defense in peril and effects the right to a fair trial.

Attorneys Jim Trusty and John Rowley said in a statement they will no longer represent him in the criminal case related to sensitive documents recovered at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida

What a complete dumb ass.

Dumb ass, did you read the article? No you didn’t. Once again your lack of education betrays you and your head up the ass approach is classic of the fringe right.

To me, abominations of pop culture whose popularity escaped me. A European analog to Springsteen might be Rod Stewart, but he’s nowhere near as pompous a performer as Springsteen.

Jittsy’s probably smirking and saying to himself “I’m a classic!”

He might be better described as a rash of Beavis-ism.

Poor Jizzard! The life of a pizza maker has him envious of an adventurous life he wishes he had thus his wanton loser ways of pretending to be many professions to live his fantasies. Now he is trying to lecture the world on how Lawyers think and what their motives are behind business decisions.

I bought oil heavily when Biden was elected.

My retirement account is beyond healthy and my personal account is a bit of a problem.
Sell and face massive increase in Feral income tax.
Sold some last year maybe more this year. At this pace I’ll need to liquidate if a GOPer is elected.

A bit problematic. He may have gone to far this time.

Who knows! No body from the left has gone to jail yet and what they did was far more egregious. Andrew McCabe rings a bell!

The material released is likely false meant to trigger people against Trump. Should be interesting when they demand the classified docs be admitted as evidence.

Rod Stewart was before my time and only recently learned of him as another dolt supporter gaslighting for Ukraine.:stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I really don’t think this is going anywhere IMHO. The only exception I will make to counter my assumptions is maybe the left really wants to ignite more chaos with more riots.

Springsteen has no self respect! This was pathetic!

I’m not sure what your dispute is, but I’m pretty convinced that all of this pursuit of Trump has one purpose: to tell anyone else thinking of taking on the powers that be, this will be your fate and they’ll permit no more surprises like Trump beating Hillary. Yes, Trump has given them enough of an opening to take him down, but this was nearly certain once it became clear that Trump didn’t have anything close to the knowledge or allies to make it a decent fight. He still behaved like an outsider once he became president. Behind the scenes, there’s enough smart and unscrupulous characters to prevent any swamp-draining. A few whistle-blowers in the FBI won’t do it,either. They’re so brazen now, they can do whatever they want and just tell us to choke on it.

I don’t think i know what you mean. I really don’t have a dispute except the perversion of the law and election integrity.

As far as the deep state and Swamp is concerned, eventually everything runs its course, and they are no different. As Sun Tsu once said: “Evil Characters will burn down their own nations just so they can rule over the ashes” America? So be it! But its a far cry from what our founding fathers had envisioned it would be. So nowhere near and if only they introduced a thing called term limits.

Just so I am clear, I am indifferent when it comes to Trump or any other candidate for that matter as I am under no illusions. If he is the Nominee then yes I will vote for him, any body else, I will make further reservations for the after life. My investments is being spiritually fit. And if a few FBI agents think they can come onto sovereign land and rule over me, then there will be some orphaned families along the way.
