What does all of that mean?
That just made me feel sick inside. So basically unless we know how to do stuff like that we are all finished.
Seriously. I don’t even know where to begin with this. If people who know about this stuff and know what to do are worried then what are the rest of us supposed to be doing?
@BrewMaster @G-Man the best advice I can offer is to stay calm and prepare to shelter in place with the hopes that you won’t need to. That means stock up on water and food and whatever personal protective equipment you can afford. Look at the information I’ve provided and procure what you can in the event that you need to venture outside and be around large groups of people. Be prepared to defend what you have but keep your fingers crossed that it doesn’t come to that. If you own or rent a home, buy some plywood, a saw, a hammer, and some nails so you can board up windows and doors accessible by ground from the inside. Have an escape ladder for the upper floors of your home and prepare a bug out bag. If you are in an apartment you can still secure it the same way. High-rises are a challenge. Focus on securing the door (keep a crowbar and axe on hand in the event of a fire). Again, these are recommendations for civil unrest that often comes with these types of events. Just plan ahead. If you need to employ any of these tactics you will know when it’s time. A lot needs to happen before that stage so stay calm and just focus on preparing for worst case scenario. In the end, if nothing happens, you will have some good supplies on hand and plenty of food to eat for the rest of the year.
EDIT: if you have a beard. Shave. Any mask you use will be useless if you have a beard or stubble and can’t form a proper seal.
Thanks for the helpful advice. It’s still scary as hell but panicking and doing nothing isn’t going to help.
At least there is a silver lining to all of this.
Confirmed cases in 17 countries.
This just in. The Chinese are claiming to have cured a case. This isn’t someone who had it and then recovered. This is an infected person getting a vaccine and then recovering. Not sure how true it is but I doubt the state run media would let this out if they couldn’t back it up.
This was first reported yesterday. What’s odd is in one report it’s a 56 year old women and in another a 46 year old man.
I cannot imagine the despair and absolute exhaustion of the doctors and medical staff.
My heart goes out to them and the people trying to survive this.
Many of the dogs sold are family pets that have been stolen. I don’t think it is fair to broad brush an entire population.
Look nothing will happen in the USA. No plague. No civil war. Nothing. Just rainbow dildo announcements and gay parades becoming daily. Expect the guns to be taken with total whimpering and no action.
My gut is telling me the same.
Perhaps it won’t be this one, but Mother Nature has been knocking on the door for quite some time now.
Science is only capable of keeping up only to a point.
Even if something did happen, the US government no longer has the political will or desire to impose quarantines. If they did, GRIDS patients would have been quarantined decades ago. Instead, they were encouraged to spread their disease. Now they even let them donate blood.
I made the same argument last night to someone. I was aware that from their perspective I was sounding alarmist.
However, I’ve been through some hurricanes which set communities back to the stone age. No grocery store supply, no electricity, gas, water no cell phone service. No communications and cut off from the world.
It is absolutely amazing how many people turn feral so quickly even under temporary circumstances.
Just out of curiosity…whats Chinese custom for dead bodies? Do they cook them up and serve them in moo goo guy pan dishes or something? With noodles and bamboo sprouts?
There is no vaccine yet.
By the time a vaccine is developed, the virus will have mutated.
I honestly think this is just propaganda. A person who is healthy can probably fight this off. Those that are not? Asthma? Not so much so.
Note that he and everyone else around him is wearing a face mask.
