Chill. I thought your post was good. I just put it out there because I spent a few hours wasting time online trying to find the best masks and was about to spend a shitload of money on N95s when they will work the same as plain surgical masks.
Sorry I didn’t take your response as a slight, to be clear there are cheaper versions of the 3M masks I am referring to that can be bought in bulk, not the N95 ones which are pricy. So thank you for making that clear.

Add wearing gloves treated with sanitizer. Doorknobs, handrails, counters etc are really bad for transmission risks.
surgical masks are better than nothing but they really aren’t designed to give you a good seal like the rubberized respirators.
When you see a hazmat team rolling out or a CDC team to an infected area they won’t be wearing surgical masks or even the more shapely common masks.
If you’re serious about protection you need a rubberized mask with incorporated face shielding and a micron carbon filter.
Yeah I thought about latex gloves which is better than nothing and cheaper. Also wearing them makes one aware that they have something on their hands thus will help prevent People from mindlessly touching their face out of habit.
Not sure how many here are going to go out in public wearing that, but hey knock yourself out if that is your preference.
My exposure risk is so minimal unless this becomes rampant I’m not changing anything. Just pointing out that for those who may be in a situation where there’s serious concern that’s the way to go.
Call it a throw back to all the NBC training I had in the military and all of the Micro and epidemiology I had in college.
I had to have 30 hrs of biology electives as an undergrad and 20 more in grad school and I had serious leanings towards maybe going on with that route beyond my masters.
I was thinking, this get-up suit would be kind of cool to wear on the streets of HK just to be a dick! It would be amusing to see people’s reactions as I walked past them, watching them stare in shock would be worth it. Lol!

This article exemplifies why there are many similar epidemics originated from China. Such cavalier attitude about the safety of others just because one can fake healthiness and get away with it is the reason why the disease progresses as that pace.
I wouldnt be surprised if she brags about selling her leftover antibiotic pills as well bc she could beat the thing in 10 pills but the doc prescribed her 30.
