President Donald Trump said Saturday that the U.S. military struck three sites in Iran, directly joining Israelâs effort to decapitate the countryâs nuclear program in a risky gambit to weaken a longtime foe amid Tehranâs threat of reprisals that could spark a wider regional conflict.
The decision to directly involve the U.S. comes after more than a week of strikes by Israel on Iran that have moved to systematically eradicate the countryâs air defenses and offensive missile capabilities, while damaging its nuclear enrichment facilities. But U.S. and Israeli officials have said that American stealth bombers and a 30,000-lb. bunker buster bomb they alone can carry offered the best chance of destroying heavily-fortified sites connected to the Iranian nuclear program buried deep underground.
âWe have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan,â Trump said in a post on social media. âAll planes are now outside of Iran air space. A full payload of BOMBS was dropped on the primary site, Fordow. All planes are safely on their way home. Congratulations to our great American Warriors. There is not another military in the World that could have done this. NOW IS THE TIME FOR PEACE!Thank you for your attention to this matter.â

Secondly Iran controls about 25% of the worldâs oil supply meaning it will cost much more for gasoline and oil product . Third , we will be financing 2 wars with a 36 TRILLION dollar deficit . I usually agree with most of you on most things. This⌠not so much. Iran CAN NOT be allowed to have nuclear weapons capability. They WILL use them against us if they have them. Higher gas prices be damned.
We are capable of supplying our own oil⌠we just choose not to. Some things are more important than gass and oil⌠like keeping our country safe from being another Hiroshima.
I know my opinion wonât be popular, but I think Trump did what needed to be done. This fiasco with Iran has been festering for decades with dumb ass deal after dumb ass deal⌠that Iran had/has no intention of keeping. I donât care about defending Israel or the Jews⌠I care about my country and my daughters and grand daughters.
